When it comes to patience and working with puppies, Joan, is a master. Her approach, that Ceasar Milan would call
"calm assertive energy" seems to be the right recipe for most young dogs and their owners.
Puppy obedience generally starts at about 6 mo of age. However, give Joan a call when you first bring your puppy
home and she will give you advice on how to begin your puppy's training from the first ride in the car and the first night
at "home".
If you have a problem or agressive dog, give us a call. We are happy to consult with you and help you determine
if you can change the situation to create a safe and comforting home for your dog. Most dogs can be rehabilitated and
most simply need to have their owner trained in order to have a happy family.
Joan's passion is agility. An athletic an energetic activity for both the dog and the handler. Joan
will help you introduce your dog to each of the obstacles in a safe manner and then begin the fun of putting sequences together
and then advanced skill like changing leads, obstacle iscrimination and sophisticated crosses.
Most of our working Border Collies enjoy time with Joan on the agility field as well as doing chores around the farm.
